Statement
Apples were always one of my favorite foods, and as such, I had one available to photograph. I really liked how the apple looked, as it was raining on the day I took photos of it, which gave it a more interesting and fitting wet look. I liked how it went with the simple backgrounds too, fitting well with a picnic table and the grass. Statement This is one of the kitchen knives my family uses to cook. I mainly used it, however, because I wanted an object that had some reflective qualities, with which I could play around with how I would show the sky reflecting off of it. It was especially interesting to take photos of it as since it was a knife, I could stick it in things and take photos from more perspectives than I could just from having it on the floor. I especially like the shot of it in the tree. Statement Mandarins aren't exactly my favorite, as I find their quality varies by batch quite a lot, but my family liked them enough to have enough for me to use a few as subjects. It was fun to shoot, as it wasn't exactly difficult to get shots I liked with it in different backgrounds. I really liked in particular how in the first shot, the color of the fruit contrasts with the grass, but it still looks like it belongs. Statement When I was making my journal for objects, I really found instruments to be very good subjects. My personal instrument, the guitar, was too large for the environment I was taking photos in, as I would get unwanted background elements trying to get the entire guitar, so I switched to my sister's violin. I really liked how the images turned out; The way the light of the cloudy sky reflected off the instrument and the wood going with the grass looked really good to me. Statement These little rubber animals were really important to me when I was in elementary school. I couldn't say why they were, but I can say it was fun to take pictures of this bear. I would take a bunch of shots from lots of different angles with the bear in different positions. I really liked how the second picture worked out with the filter – how the bear seemed to be dissolving like how my other ones, a yellow frog and a green elephant, disappeared from my memory after I left elementary school. |
